The Plan of the Ages Unveiled

The sense of anticipation, among the members of the guardian guild, was extremely intense. They were gathering to attend this important meeting called by the grand high council. In the recollection of the attendees, there never was a time when such urgency was associated with an event. There was a frenzy of speculation, circulating among the guild members, concerning the intent of this gathering. As everyone in attendance would soon discover, the reason for this meeting was beyond the wildest theory anyone had yet contrived.

The amphitheater where the guild members were assembling emanated in every direction, as far as the eye could see. It was a circular structure, with a gradual upward incline as each row radiated away from the center. The layout of amphitheater allowed for perfect visibility, throughout the entire structure. The center contained an arena with a platform, upon which the members of the grand high council were now positioning themselves.

The Disease That Will Destroy Your Destiny!

I want to share what the Lord has shown me concerning the "Disease That Will Destroy Your Destiny." That fatal disease is known as "Procrastination." I'll never forget the words of Mike Murdock, who said, "you'll never advance in the kingdom of God beyond your last act of disobedience." Procrastination is a form of disobedience and defines the difference between forgetful "hearers" and "doers" of the Word of God. This very blog post represents a milestone in my life, because I'm a professional procrastinator. Being a procrastinator allows the enemy of our souls, the "Terminator," to destroy or severely blunt our destiny. Our level of success, is directly related to the level of procrastination in our lives.

Love Never Fails

The Lord continues to amaze us as we recognize His hand in daily events in our lives and those around us. "Every time we pray, something happens." These are the words of Jim Moore, the director of the Salem House of Prayer. As we begin to approach our prayer life from this perspective, we'll attach more significant value to our times of prayer. We understand our God as the faithful Father, so we know time spent in His presence is never wasted. If we realized every time we pray, something happens, what would that do to our level of expectation.

Most of us have heard the famous question, "What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?" How about this? What would we pray for, if we knew it would be answered? Or this? What would we believe for, if we knew God would do whatever we asked? And finally this? How earnestly and diligently would we pray, if we knew our answer was on the way? This is exactly what prayer is all about. Our Father delights in doing wonderful things for His kids, just like any earthly father would.

Just Like in the Days of Noah

"Tell me once again, grandfather, about your father and how he walked with God." Young Noah loved to hear the stories of the old times from his grandfather Methuselah. He was eager to know every detail and his grandfather could paint an extremely vivid picture. Besides, the old man loved to revel in the young lad's desire for the knowledge that he was more than willing to share. Most of the youth, these days, didn't seem to care about times past. They were preoccupied with the present and how much enjoyment they could get out of life. They lived like there was no tomorrow and acted as though they would live forever.

The old man could see the changes, which had taken place during the 386 years of his life, were definitely not for the better. The heart of mankind was growing darker with the passing of each successive generation. This downward spiral was only to be expected as people chose to distance themselves from the Creator. This is why it was always so refreshing to converse with the seventeen-year-old youth, whose name meant 'comfort'.

Fallen Comrade

A Momentary Lapse In Judgment Can Cause Lasting Consequences

I couldn't help but reflect upon the events that recently transpired, which brought me to this point. The honor guard had just finished folding the flag that was draped over the coffin of my CO. The flag was handed to me and I presented this triangular-shaped banner to the spouse of my fallen commanding officer. The flood of emotions that came over me at that moment were absolutely unbearable. The well-worn cliché, "war is hell," suddenly rang true with resounding emphasis, as the bitter truth of this whole malady finally came home to me.

Thoughts On Spiritual Warfare

We need to be wise to the devices and tactics of the enemy or he will exploit our weaknesses.

If we know the "Word" of God (Holy Bible) we can't be outmaneuvered. An ancient warrior was fitted with armor, but he still had to know how to take full advantage of the protection it afforded. The devil will try to get us to battle on his own terms, like when he tempted Jesus in the desert. Jesus never deviated from the "Word" and He was victorious. Stick with the "Word" and don't war after the flesh (the weapons of our warfare are not carnal).

A good defense and offense starts with an awareness of what's going on around us. Living in denial will keep us from being effective and productive. The ultimate conspiracy theory is not just a theory. There is a real devil out there, and he is out to destroy and utterly vanquish us.

The Gospel (Good News) In A Nutshell

The reason we're having this conversation, is because the God who loves and cares deeply for you, arranged this meeting before the time of creation. After forming this planet and populating it with every life-form imaginable, he placed within it a man and a woman as caretakers. He instructed them to be fruitful and multiply, but inserted a single note of caution: "refrain from eating the fruit of a tree in the middle of a certain garden." The footnote added to this cautionary warning was, "on the day you eat of this said fruit, you shall die."

Now the case could be made, concerning a "loving God." Why would the lure connected with such a dire consequence, be placed right in the center of one's existence? The answer to this question is multi-faceted. The man and woman were given a quest to prove their loyalty to their creator. If the lure to break the loyalty pact is located directly in the center of their existence, this would be a true test of loyalty. Also, if the one demonstrating loyalty was inclined to deviate from the pact, the proximity of the lure would have absolutely no bearing.

Peace With God

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: (Romans 5:1)

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Romans 8:6)

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Romans 14:17)

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. (1 Corinthians 14:33)

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; (Ephesians 2:14)

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; (Ephesians 2:15)
